Infant Program Facts

The Infant Room is part of KOCO’s
Under 3 Program.

The room accommodates two
teachers, and up to eight infants
(age 8 weeks to approximately 1
year).

Each infant is provided with his/her
own crib, for which parents bring
clean bedding each week.  The
infants share other large
equipment (swings, high chairs,
exersaucers, etc.).

Care is customized for each
individual infant:  feeding and
sleeping schedules, diet, diapering
routines, etc.

An individualized note informs
parents about the details of each
infant’s day (meals, naps, diaper
changes, supplies needed, etc.).

A variety of stimulating activities is
provided each day to support the
infants’ cognitive, motor and
social/emotional development.
We love to
make
messes
with shaving
cream in the
Infant Room.

                        KOCO’s Philosophy of Child Care

Kids of Chatham Organization, Inc. -- a nonprofit child care center run by a parent Board
of Directors -- is dedicated to providing high quality child care to children ages 8 weeks
to 13 years.  Our developmentally appropriate programs are designed to challenge and
enrich children within the structure of a safe and nurturing environment.  At KOCO, we
believe that children learn best through hands-on activities, so a typical day balances
structured “academic” lessons with  child-initiated active play and exploration.  In
addition, a formal conflict resolution and character development program is embedded
within the curriculum to support the social/emotional development of our students.
KOCO’s strong ties with the local public library and school system help us to maintain a
dynamic partnership with our local community.  The crucial bond between daycare and
home is likewise strengthened by daily communication and myriad opportunities for
families to visit and volunteer.  We are proud to be celebrating our 20th year as East
    Hampton’s premier child care facility!
